Hi, I'm Joris.

Graduated in Antwerp as an electronics engineer specialised in multimedia: half signal theory, half how humans experience technology. That combination of hard tech and the human-facing side never really left.

I cut my teeth in the embedded world: Linux ecosystems, telecom platforms, and later the energy market. When your code ships inside hardware, "works on my machine" is not an option. You learn rigour, and you learn to respect constraints.

Moved to the USA as an expat. Same profession, completely different work culture and scale. It's where I first understood that context beats content: the environment around an engineer shapes their work more than their skills do.

Returned to Belgium a few years later, and promptly spent years travelling all over for work. Working with teams across cultures taught me more about engineering organisations than any framework ever did.

Enterprise contexts taught me how large organisations really work: process, politics, and the psychology underneath both. It's where my fascination with corporate dynamics started: success and failure are rarely about the technology.

Scaleups are where identity shifts happen fast: the team that got you here isn't automatically the team that gets you there. Many hats, high speed, and constant renegotiation of roles. The perfect lab for everything I now coach on.

Today I work independently, helping engineering teams navigate AI transitions with honesty, not hype. All the stations above feed into it: the tech depth, the enterprise scars, the scaleup speed, and the conviction that the human side is where transformation succeeds or fails.
